Timmy Evens

Timmy Evens

M.S.P.T O.C.S.

Timmy was born in Portland Oregon. He started racing mountain bikes while in high school and continued on throughout his undergraduate education at Oregon State University and Physical Therapy Degree University of Montana in 2005. He raced at a Cat 2 level on road and pro for mountain bikes. His area of specialty has focused on sports performance and doing bike fits. Timmy is a board certified orthopedic specialist or O.C.S.

There is a new wave of physical therapists being involved in cycle fitting. Timmy has focused on a two pronged approach to interacting with patients: manual therapy including spine manipulation to free movement and a ``movement systems`` approach to retraining proper movement. In the loose science of bike fittings/PT for cyclists he has worked to develop an understanding of optimum alignments on the bike and optimum movement patterns on top of that alignment.

Timmy treats all cyclists by first looking for static/dynamic alignment on the bike in order to allow even stress distribution across muscles/joints. He then looks at the patient in motion to identify improper loading patterns that may be inadvertently overloading structures.

His success has been through using video analysis and objective measures of pedal force/power output to help patients visualize their own movement system. He considers his practice to be one of identifying barriers to a patients sport success and a teaching moment involving either conscious control and modification or repetitive exercise to train proper patterns into the underlying nervous system.

Specializes in: Sports Injuries, Shoulders, Knees, Ankles, Neck and Back pain, Elbow and Wrist pain, Balance/Vestibular, Post-operative Rehab. Timmy is certified in Dry Needling.
